Back after one year of ESC volunteering

Another volunteering experience thanks to the European Solidarity Corps, a program funded by the European Union, has just ended and it’s time to go home!

Almost a year ago, a young adventurer from one of the small municipalities of the BIM Taloro consortium left for Santiago de Compostela (Spain) with many hopes and few certainties. Today we find him full of memories and positive emotions to share, ambitions, goals, and dreams to achieve

Here’s what Mattia tells us:

“Thanks to the opportunity given to me to participate in this beautiful experience, I was able to improve and learn different skills in different working sectors, I also learned Spanish, English, and a little Galician.

Before completing the year in Spain, I researched and decided to apply for another learning project, to be done later after the volunteering project. Thanks to my previous experience as a volunteer, I was chosen for another type of EU-funded project, which will also take place in Spain shortly.

During this year I have met and established beautiful relationships with people who I consider very important in my life. Furthermore, the project in Spain was genuinely wonderful and motivating, giving me surprises every day, with many moments of learning, leisure, and “fiesta”.
