Enzo Cugusi / President Malik Association

Since July 2014, he has been the president of Malik Association. In addition, since 2008, he has been the president of the Association of Sardinians in Turin Kinthales. The association, founded in 1968, is a political, cultural, and social referent for the Sardinian community that emigrated to Turin and the province. Since 2001 he has been a collaborator and referent for problems related to immigration in the Italian-Arabic Cultural Center Dar al Hikma in Turin, the Association Alma Mater, the Egyptian Association Nilo, the Intercultural Center of the Municipality of Turin, the Romanian Association of Turin, and the Peruvian Community. From 2007 to 2011, he was president of the Environmental Commission – Green Energy of the Municipality of Turin. In 2003 he was a member of the Pastoral Delegation of Piedmontese Labor in Palestina. From 2001 to 2011, he carried out the assignment of City Councilor of the City of Turin. From 1996 to 2001, he was a Component of the Working Group of the Project Tappeto Volante (Flying Carpet), a multi-year project that contributed to the valorization of the neighborhood San Salvario in the center of Turin, characterized by high immigration rates.

Valeria Sanna graduated in Literature and has twenty years of experience as a touristic/cultural and didactic project manager. In 2003 she founded Malik Association, and she still takes care of the selection of employees and the external relations of the association. As a touristic/cultural project manager, her role unfolds in various project phases – from the contact with the local entity, the school, or the other associations, to the usable source of funding, from the formulation and coordination of the project to the final evaluation. She treats and realizes touristic/cultural projects as a project manager – coordinator – consultant, and monitoring expert. Furthermore, she carries out territorial animation activities on topics relevant to the relationship between local and global cultural identity. She collaborates with a staff of professionals with multidisciplinary competencies in tourism, environment, culture, economy, and the social field.

Laura Pisu / Project Manager Malik Association

Laura is a construction engineer and project manager in technology, culture, and sustainable tourism. In the technical sector, she worked on the realization of construction works and infrastructure, both for new buildings and for renovation and restoration; both in the public sector (planning and management of the work) and in the private sector (for construction companies and tourism businesses). Furthermore, Laura is a consultant for the Public Administration on community funds. She is a founding partner of Malik Association, based in Cagliari, with which she carries out multiple regional and national projects in the cultural and touristic sector, mainly aimed at the valorization of and respect for the territory, skills development, the joint dissemination of culture and technology, and the promotion of reading. Laura is also a partner of the Association Pubblico-08, with headquarters in Ivrea and an operational office in Cagliari, which develops cultural projects and original narrative strategies for new forms of participation. She is a founding partner and counselor of the association Engineers, Culture and Sport. Finally, Laura is a member of the Training Commission of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Cagliari. Claudia Sedda

Claudia Sedda / Project Manager Malik Association

Claudia graduated in 2007 from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sassari (Communication profile), and in 2009 she obtained a Second Level Master’s degree (Faculty of Law) in European integration law of local autonomies and other seminar masters in European project management. She worked as a project manager for the Municipality of Belvì (Youth in Action, Europe for Citizens, and LLP programs) and the Local Action Group Rural District BMGS (measure 4.2.1 Transnational Cooperation). She spent multiple months in Viterbo, Paris, and Valletta, where she had the opportunity to coordinate and participate in implementing two European projects co-financed by the FEI and FER funds. Since 2014 she has been the owner of the agency Eurobridge, which offers assistance to local entities, associations, and SMEs in drafting and managing European and transnational projects. Finally, she collaborates with Malik Association in planning and running international projects aimed mainly at young people.

Iulita Popa / Collaborator

Iulita Popa was born in Moldova where she lived with her family, completed her university studies, and worked in that field. She graduated in Law in 2016 and saw her working future in the public domain, but her European Voluntary Service (EVS) training carried out in Italy in 2018 changed her life. In 2019 not only did she move to Sardinia after a year of volunteering, but she also decided that would be her working sphere. After the EVS, she collaborated with various social-cultural associations in Sardinia, particularly with Malik Association. From 2019 she takes care of the animation in local and transnational Erasmus+ projects and digital communication. Iulita carries out the activities as operator of Sportello in Spalla in the territory of BIM Taloro, Comunità Montana Barbagia di Seulo, Dorgali, and Oliena. From March 2020 she has been a mentor for the new volunteers of Malik, participants in the European Solidarity Corps program. In addition to being a youth worker, she also carries out the planning and management of European projects. Moreover, she has a solid experience in group animation and support in decision-making processes. She has competencies in photography, video making and editing, graphic design, and social media management.

Alessandra is an archivist, territorial animator, and trainer for the third sector. She graduated in Modern Literature with a thesis about Fundraising for cultural heritage and continued with a master’s degree in Fundraising at the Roma Fundraising.it school and the qualification of paleographer archivist at the State Archives of Cagliari. After her graduation, thanks to a scholarship from the Globus Placement program, she carried out an internship at the Italian Institute of Culture in Chicago (USA), dealing mainly with the design and implementation of cultural events to promote the Italian language and culture. Alessandra is a founding partner of the association 6comenoi, in which she is mainly concerned with cultural planning. She has been an honorary member of the local branch of Cagliari of the European network AEGEE Europe since 2014. Since 2015 she has collaborated with the National Forum of the Third Sector throughout the project FQTS (Formazione quadri terzo settore) as a territorial animator and trainer for the third sector. With Malik Association, Alessandra has collaborated since 2018; as a youth worker for the projects Sportello in Spalla and La biblioteca dell’identita and as a mentor, group leader, and project manager for the Erasmus+ program.

Lorenzo Ghiani completed his studies at the University of Cagliari in the Faculty of Political Sciences, following up with a Master in Society and Territory Policies in 2014. Since then he has had several collaborations with associations and in environmental education. Furthermore, in 2016 he decided to open his B&B in Isili and deal with hospitality and tourism, an activity that still engages him today. Driven by an earlier experience as a participant in a youth exchange in Turkey, in 2014 he decided to take a dive into the world of international youth mobility and collaborate with Malik Association in the project Sportello in Spalla as a youth worker and animator in the territory of Sarcidano and Barbagia di Seulo. From 2014 to 2016, his experience with Malik Association alternated between collaboration with Sportello in Spalla and participation in Erasmus+ mobility projects, training courses, and youth exchanges, both as a participant and group leader in projects carried out in Sardinia and abroad. After this period, the collaboration continued in various territories where Sportello in Spalla has been active in these years, that is Comuni del Consorzio Bim Taloro, Unione Comuni del Guilcer, Comune di Dorgali, and Comunità Montana del Sarcidano e della Barbagia di Seulo. Furthermore, in 2018 and 2019, he collaborated on Malik’s project Laboratorio di ricerca: La biblioteca dell’identita in the primary school of the Municipality of Ballao. Currently, he collaborates in the project Sportello in Spalla as an animator and curator of the newsletter.
