From 1 to 8 June 2026, some participants took part in “Pathways to Inclusion: Empowering Youth Workers for Diverse Communities”, an Erasmus+ Training Course hosted in Kastoria, Greece, focusing on social inclusion and the role of youth workers in supporting increasingly diverse and multicultural communities.
The project brought together youth workers, volunteers, and members of organisations from different European countries with the aim of strengthening competences, tools, and methodologies to promote the inclusion of migrants and refugees, while encouraging active participation and social cohesion.
Through non-formal education activities, workshops, simulations, group work, and intercultural exchange moments, participants explored topics related to diversity, inclusion, and the creation of more open and welcoming communities. The training also provided a space to share experiences, good practices, and tools to be applied in everyday youth work.

“I took part in the Erasmus+ project in Greece, and it was a very beautiful, intense, and enriching experience, especially because of the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with young people from different countries and backgrounds.
What impressed me the most were certainly the stories shared by the girls from the Ukrainian group: stories of suffering, resilience, communities growing in the middle of difficulties, and a great, great desire for Europe. It is an experience that gave me a lot, both on a personal and professional level, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.”

“I found this experience truly enriching and I would definitely do it again. I really appreciated the fact that everyone had the opportunity to propose and facilitate activities, making the whole experience more dynamic and participatory.
The context also made a difference: it created a welcoming environment that allowed us to get to know each other better and work together naturally. Throughout the week, there were many opportunities for discussion and reflection, and I found the exchange of ideas extremely stimulating. It was also a valuable experience from a networking perspective.”

“Pathways to Inclusion” showed that inclusion is not only a topic to be discussed theoretically, but a process built through dialogue, listening, and active participation.
Through this experience, participants returned home with new competences, practical tools, and greater awareness of the role each person can play in promoting more open, supportive, and inclusive communities.
